A big thanks to Martin Parr (above) who let us into his home yesterday and allowed us to film him talking about the influence Bill Jay had on the early development of his work. Our conversation centered around a particular talk Bill gave at Manchester Polytechnic that Martin attended in the Autumn of 1971, whilst still a student and where Bill introduced Martin and his fellow students to the work of Tony Ray Jones.
Martin was supportive of our film and even made some suggestions as to where and how it might be first screened. Watch this space for more details concerning this!
Taking part in this staff exhibition with four photo-etchings on show, private view this Thursday 9th February – all welcome!

Last weekend I was busy photographing The Big Sleepover in Myatts’ Fields, Camberwell and here’s a little snippet of the day.
Want to know more about The Big Sleepover? Here’s what Father Nature has to say about it:
“Your local park may be a familiar daytime haunt, but imagine being able to spend a summer night sleepover there when everyone else has gone home: you’re camping out, building a fire, enjoying storytelling and games with other local families.
Father Nature gives low/no income families a taste of camping in the great outdoors… on their doorstep… and for free! With tents and sleeping bags for all, and park security provided by the Army Reserves, each year 100 local families are invited to camp for a night in the park accompanied by workshops on fire-lighting and cooking, gardening, storytelling and much more, all with dinner and breakfast next day thrown in.”
